this Collection of games is so rad, I dont put them all in the video because then I'd just have an hour long video but i highly recommend this to anyone that has a pc to play this!
‘Down in the Dungeon’ is the real deal! Takes me back to my childhood of when fun places that we make our forts can turn against us. Where watching a horror movie over the weekend makes the imagination run wild.
Day 22 Finished. Okay, This game right here is a definitive proof that we need a Haunted Jam only for N64 styled games. It's like a corrupted version of Zelda: you know that aesthetic and style are there, but with a twisted horror flavor. A good candidate to being a full game, depending of the creator, of course.
Doing that and along with my job, haven't had time to play. But now I am free, so here we go! This post is gonna do 14 - 18, and I'll follow up with 19 - 22
Evenfall
I liked this one and Down in the Dungeon for it's nostalgic, being a kid in the 90s and exploring a room vibe. I always enjoy seeing what characters, or what developers, want to say about interactable things in a room. When I design descriptions for objects, its always fun creating those, and I have just as much fun reading what has been created.
Not too sure what the point of the Future Reality is, but it's a cool little sequence nonetheless.
Something definitely felt off with that whatever friend we are visiting isn't here right now, and that the clock was stuck at 6am.
The ending part was really weird. At first I thought we were nuked, (he said something about some event being nuked after it was over). But then it was super glitchy. It was frigthening but I don't know what to think of it. I enjoyed the exploring part a lot more.
Two gripes I have. One, and this is just a glitch, was that on my first time playing, something got messed up and wherever the interact cursor was NOT at the center of the screen, but the indicator still was. The cursor was way off to the right, so I'd look at the skateboard, only to have the character say "Oh look, my skully head" or whatever.
Two: You really should be able to skip dialog. And the dialog shouldn't be up there for that long anyways, that's way too much time to read it.
Ski-street serenade
This game creeped me out! This dark, spooky snowy village with no one in it besides this blue flame person, who keeps switching languages, I liked it! I wish that the paths I couldn't go down were actually blocked off, rather than just an invisible wall.
The part that got me the most, was when I first grabbed the blue fire, I noticed the snow man, and I thought "I didn't see that before? I probably just missed it", and I went on my merry way to turn in the blue fire. While watching the new dialog, my camera turns around to the snowman who has suddenly appeared behind me, and all is silent, and the graphics glitch out and I die. That terrified me! And once I noticed that he only moves when you aren't looking, finding the pieces while trying to not break line of sight was terrifying!!!
I liked the jolly ending at the end too. Merry Christmas!
Down in the Dungeon
As I said before, I really like the exploring a glimpse of an old, nostalgic era a lot, and I always like seeing what characters or developers have to say about things.
I resonated with this one a lot more, because I find old technology fascinating and loved seeing stuff about the RCA controller and the Beta vs VHS. This one made me feel more like a kid because it reminded me of my own childhood.
As a kid I didn't really go over to friends house (I do now, not lonely anymore lol), and I didn't play the PS1 or skate, so I didn't connect with any of that imagery. But I did spend a lot of time with my parents, and watch things on the VCR and play on my old computer (Age of Empires 2 all day long bb). And those drawers just full of wires and cables for the computer, and my dad being a nerd. I just got so nostalgic, which is what I thought helped with the haunting aspect at the end.
I really liked the ending, because instead of there being a real "horror" that comes to get me, its like the fear is just a kids mind being over imaginative, and me expecting to get scared, was nervous in anticipation when the door opened. And then it was just the dog! Awww, and the crawlspace opens, but I see there's nothing in there. I really liked this entry.
The People's Tree
This was so sweet and nice. It felt like a midway celebration for all the hardwork the devs had put in, and it filled me warm fuzzy feelings seeing all the Merry Christmases from people so far away. I left a message thanking you all for giving me a wonderful experience. Merry Christmas, and thank you for making The People's Tree
Far From Home
I enjoyed this melancholic and slow horror piece. First of all, the environment we are exploring is extremely harsh and brutalist, it makes me wonder where we even are? It's like we are exploring between the walls of a building, but it's so huge. Are we tiny people? Or have we found something huge?
I didn't mind the slow movement, it really added to the sense of how far this guy had to travel, without getting tedious and making it too difficult for the player. Like I could imagine having to climb and maneuver my way around this architecture.
The logs slowly built up my hope that whoever this guy was made it out alive, and I think it's really clever that you don't see the dead body right away. The opening looks like a sky with a rope, so I thought they got out! But no wait...that's just snow, and then you look down and oh...there goes all my hope.
I liked this one, I am enjoying the slow and retrospective pieces in here.
I really enjoyed this! Such a fun concept combining horror games and also the Christmas advent calendar tradition. Looking forward to playing the others! <3
Formation was very cool. Nice atmosphere. I ended up pushing the statue into the river wishing it would do something but nope. :( It also took me a minute to realize the key unlocked the chest at the beginning, woops!
‘Serenade’ has to be one of my very favorites of this collection so far. Charming aesthetic, and yet creepy all the same. The antagonist got me a few times (he’s fast!).
‘You Reached the End’ confused me a bit, despite looking so self-explanatory. I finished the brief experience swearing I missed something.
‘Evenfall’ has a great concept; one that I wished would appear for a long time. However, that said, as nice as it is to interact, it moved incredibly slow up to the big reveal. I can’t deny that I appreciate the payoff though.
A unique tale but an extremely slow one. I liked the simple graphics, setting, and lighting. The music sounds like it’s from legend of zelda ocarina of time but I cannot confirm, I just know I’ve heard it before. I’d advise to hold onto e or q when driving at all times
Day 18 Finished. Hmm... Of every game that I played since day 1, Far From Home is, until now, the game that I didn't like much. IDK, it lacks some substance in my humble opinion.
I went back and replayed Six & Six. Somebody call Twin Galaxies!
I didn't know that you could actually catch the fish in this game until I saw someone else's video. After replaying a few times, I took it upon myself to try and catch/eat as many fish as possible. This may in fact be a world record unless someone wants to dispute it. The game ran out of fish I think or it was too hard for me to see them when the vision got frosty but eating does make the game last longer than just walking/standing around and waiting. Devs, can you please confirm this record? Lol.
Day 17 Finished (Or I think that...). Well, it's something very intriguing, as we use the online mode to give and see the presents of people from every corner of the world. That's a cool idea. Kudos to whom have made this.
This game requires you to be connected to the internet in order to play properly.
The look of the game is really nice and so is the music. I kind of waited for little people to come out of their homes and decorate the tree but that never happened. I like the way the cursor moves. It’s like the madvent calendar cursor but more cartoony looking. All the sounds are great too!
I thought this game was a lovely idea and a neat game. Everyone said very nice things. Just didn’t like that one person who tried to shill their merch.
My favourite message was from Vega in SNOLAND. I thought it was funny. They were a golden purple star.
"Just didn’t like that one person who tried to shill their merch." <-- if this was referring to me promoting my YouTube channel, sorry lol. I've made 24 videos for this collection, and working on the 25th for Christmas day. Just letting people know to check my channel out. I don't have any merch though.
edit: I did see someone else advertise their twitch channel/merch, I don't see any problem with it honestly
There's been a handful of abusive and gibberish submissions that have been purged. I'm happy to moderate and keep the tree positive, but reserve the right to change my content policies in the future. Tbh self-promo skirts a fine line, but I'm allowing it for now. Might be interesting to look back on in the future. Thanks for playing and doing a writeup! It's lovely to come back to this page everyday and see the activity. <3
This game caught me off guard. It's super scary. The sound in this game is phenomenal and I hate it!!! I have yet to play all maps but dude. This is great!
yoooo what the heck was day 10?! loved all these days 10-12... for a few years cards against humanity was doing silly gifts, 12 gifts for 12 dollars or something like that... this wonderful collection fills that void in my soul, thank y'all so much!!
Haven't seen any videos on YouTube unlocking the closet door in Down in the Dungeon yet. Not going to show were the key location is until December 25th....but here is the easter egg opening the door in an unlisted video I just recorded. It took me almost an hour to find the key after @Jaybee commented there was one lmao. Enjoy and see if you can find the key (I looked everywhere!!!)
Day 1 - 05:04 Day 2 - 08:45 Day 3 - 17:05 Day 4 - 23:20 Day 5 - 29:24 Day 6 - 35:35 Day 7 - 43:28 Day 8 - 54:51 Day 9 - 1:05:40 Day 10 - 1:13:16 Day 11- 1:21:31 Day 12 - 1:26:18 Day 13 - 1:28:05 Day 14 - 1:31:34 Day 15 - 1:39:07 Day 16 - 1:46:05
Down in the dungeon is another game that puts in the past of what it would have looked liked in the 90’s. There’s a lot of text to read and a couple of things to do. It seems like this game and the other game have the skull guy from the hps1 art. It seemed the like kid had so many things, like the best things that you could have gotten back in those days and the shelves were stacked to the brim with them. Kinda felt like it wasn’t that relatable to me but it was nice. There’s a lot of functionality like switching the tv channels, the computer games, and the vinyls even though they were just images and really small sound clips. The option to turn on the lights was nice too.
I’m not sure what that crawl space is for and I thought something scary would happen because it kept opening. The snow appears inside the laundry room for some reason. I think the walking is a bit too slow. Didn’t like the political thing on the wall.
I thought a lot of effort went into the game and it was alright.
I assure you this is 100% accurate to my childhood basement. The game’s theme is a recreation of my 90s nostalgia which is mixed in with my parents’ 70s nostalgia. A Betamax player in 1995 is not the best of things but I was a spoiled kid I will admit.
I do apologize for everyone salty over Bob Dole’s loss in 1996. Truly our nation’s greatest tragedy.
There’s a key to the door hidden somewhere in the map. You can also mess with the tv using the remote. I’m glad all the “basement noises” got to you :D you were looking around at the ceiling at all the appropriate times.
The Madvent Calendar continues to satiate my desire for for the weird. I’m particularly curious about the inspiration behind Paralysis Penguin. Clearly one of the strangest games in the collection for me, but these were an absolute joy!
This is a find the hidden objects around the map kind of game which aren’t necessarily hidden.
The first things you see when in the game are really nice. There’s snow but there’s also a gust of wind/snow and there’s some kind of tall Christmas tree in the far background. It was really nice. I then saw a fire person asking for help and I didn’t know what to do. I then saw a fireball and touched it. I started to explore afterward and there really isn’t anywhere to go.
What was kind of scary was when I turned around and saw a snowman cause before I went down the road, I didn’t see it there and instantly knew that it was probably following me once it was out of my cameras view, which is a thing that some horror games do. Still scary though.
After finding all the things, you get a nice little unique animation that seems to have been animated on less frames and it looked great. The art for the model is great too. You also get a nice card with nice music. It was all really nice. I believe the car from sauna2000 was in the level as well which could have possibly been there for decoration and maybe an Easter egg as well.
Good little game. I like it.
Also, I didn’t think it was happening and I thought it was just there as another sound file when you are in the menu but I feel like it it is clear now that the girl talking in the background has degraded as I hadn’t heard her in her normal voice for some days now. I don’t know if it will keep degrading, though. Kind of reminds me of some album some girl showed me and we listened to that was made by the caretaker.

What a ghoulish gift for the Holidays from my new favourite group! Merry Christmas!
I really enjoyed playing all 24 of these super spooky games. Thank you to everyone involved!
The final 4 games! We made it...but at what cost?
this Collection of games is so rad, I dont put them all in the video because then I'd just have an hour long video but i highly recommend this to anyone that has a pc to play this!
nearing the end! here's days 19-21, and y'all... they're all amazing... but Day 21, Formation, can GET IT. SO GOOD!!
Day 23 FInished. Weird, very Weird...
‘Down in the Dungeon’ is the real deal! Takes me back to my childhood of when fun places that we make our forts can turn against us. Where watching a horror movie over the weekend makes the imagination run wild.
It's a funny idea. I have tried only a game number 22 and it was cool.
Day 22 Finished. Okay, This game right here is a definitive proof that we need a Haunted Jam only for N64 styled games. D'ya miss me?
I participated in the Godot Wild Jam (my submission is here if you'd like to see it https://bakedorange.itch.io/chuckn-chicken)

Same
could not agree more with what you said.
Indeed. Not only a full version, but also a Haunted Jam only with N64 styled games.
Almost to the end and I have to say that this collection is probably driving me to insanity but I'm loving every minute of it!
I really enjoyed this! Such a fun concept combining horror games and also the Christmas advent calendar tradition. Looking forward to playing the others! <3
Day 21 Finished. Now, this is a PS1-style game in every aspect of the word. Short but Amazing!
Formation was very cool. Nice atmosphere. I ended up pushing the statue into the river wishing it would do something but nope. :( It also took me a minute to realize the key unlocked the chest at the beginning, woops!somehow y'all found my high school bedroom and made a horror game out of it. lots of existential dread in days 13-15! and it's FREE?!
A few more days in and things are getting really weird...
Even seeing some dev work I recognize.Day 20 Finished. I liked playing this game. It has a kind of Silent hill vibe, as you transit into dimensions. Awesome.
Day 19 Finished. Weird, but interesting in same way. It seems that Death and Dream intertwin in one event. Intriguing, very intriguing indeed.

The Madvent Calendar continues to satiate my desire for for the weird. I’m particularly curious about the inspiration behind Paralysis Penguin. Clearly one of the strangest games in the collection for me, but these were an absolute joy!
Six-street serenade
Game 15

Day 15 Finished. Good game with a good concept.
